After an incredible comeback in the 2024/25 season – reaching 10th place (4th in the Super League relegation group) and thus staying up directly – an unforgettable campaign came to an end. In the final stretch the lads put together an astonishing run: 9 matches, 20 points, pure passion, pure character. What hardly anyone still thought possible became reality – we stayed in the league outright… and how!
In the following season, 2025/26, after many changes to the squad and a number of injury problems, we were sadly no longer able to match those strong performances.
After just nine matches and only two points, I was forced to vacate my post and leave FC Winterthur.
In spite of everything, this cult club and its exceptional people will always stay with me as the fondest of memories.
The “Remontada 2024/25” remains a season for the history books.
