Uli Forte is a two-time Swiss Cup winner, celebrating a cup triumph with Grasshoppers as well as with FC Zürich.
With record champions GC he finished runners-up, as he did with Bern’s Young Boys. He has been Coach of the Year in Switzerland, played twice in the Europa League with his teams and most recently coached Arminia Bielefeld in the 2. Bundesliga in 2022.
DSC Arminia and Uli Forte have reached an agreement on terminating the contract that was still running. Arminia and Forte, who was in charge of the club as head coach for the first four match days of the current 2. Bundesliga season, have agreed to keep the details confidential. “I wish Uli Forte all the best for the future and thank him for the contractual agreement,” says Arminia managing director Christoph Wortmann.

The tension is rising…
In the quarter-finals, FC Yverdon Sport were drawn against their cantonal neighbours from Lausanne. For the “Derby du Vaud”, Yverdon Sport held the psychological advantage, as Lausanne Sport were coming off a poor run of results.
In a thrilling match, the lower-division side eventually prevailed 1-0 and moved into the semi-finals of the Swiss Cup.
In the round of 16 of the 2021/22 Swiss Cup, FC Yverdon Sport hosted the current Super League leaders, FC Zürich. In a hard-fought and hugely exciting match, the green-and-whites still had to go to a penalty shoot-out despite twice taking the lead. No fewer than 26 penalties were needed to settle it.
